Autochorissexuality, or aegosexuality, is a sexual orientation condition where the individual feels a disconnect between themself and the source of their arousal.

Flag[]

The Aegosexual flag is nearly identical to the asexual flag, but it has a triangle with an inverted order of the colors. The triangle represents a "reverse" of asexuality. The color associations remains the same with the asexual flag, with an added grey stripe that represents the in-between of arousal.[1]

Etymology & History[]

Dr. Anthony Bogaert derived the term from the phrase 'autochoris', meaning 'sexuality without identity'.[2] Aego- is from Latin words with 'a-' meaning 'without' and 'ego' meaning 'myself', making the combined word translate to 'sexual without myself'.[3]

The term Autochorissexual was coined by Dr. Anthony Bogaert; a psychologist who specializes in human sexuality, specifically Asexuality.[4] At the time the name was coined, Asexuality was considered a psychological disorder and Dr. Bogaert labeled Autochorissexuality as a paraphilia.[5] This caused controversy about the identity label and led to a reclaiming of the term and renaming it Aegosexual.[6]
